DoubleYou Productions was launched in 2024 to provide artists working across a variety of theatre & film disciplines with a collaborative space to take risks, develop new work and answer big questions. The brainchild of Louis Cunningham and Maddy Maguire, the company seeks to produce new writing on stage and screen, telling under- celebrated stories and platforming fresh voices.
Louis and Maddy first started producing work together under the banner of Frangipane Productions. We debuted our first show, The Party, at The Hope Theatre as part of Camden Fringe 2022 and were very grateful to be greeted by sellout audiences and an OFFIE nomination. This was followed by a trilogy of successful shows The Party, The Q, and The Barnes Slasher which toured to a number of venues throughout 2022/23 including The King’s Head and The OSO Arts Centre.
Now armed with a renewed dream to support socially-conscious writing from early and mid-career multidisciplinary creatives, we’ve returned with DoubleYou.
ABOUT US
“The Barnes Slasher is a brilliant comedy, filled with twists, turns, carefully selected tunes, subtle digs, and some frankly bizarre moments”
— Review of THE BARNES SLASHER from Reviewshub, 2023
“Director Max Mackay’s experience in film is utilised effectively within this mixed media image. Juxtaposing Johnson’s austere delivery with the clumsier one Dean provides Samuel is highly comical. ”
— Review of THE PARTY from Everything Theatre, 2022
“Directors Maggie Moriarty and Louis Cunningham do a remarkable job in bringing this tender, clever and emotional play alive and making a breathing, tangibly palpitating masterpiece out of it. ”
— Review of BLINK from Daily Info, 2021
“This tightly spun yarn of delightful delinquency is evocative of a certain kind of vintage murder mystery: it is a tale which is at once sweetly familiar and predictable, but with a few twists of its own. ”
